We touched down in London for a few brief days…just enough time to drop off the majority of our luggage and do some light re-packing for our honeymoon on the Costa Brava. The September weather was warm and the sun was shining. Eating our weight in paella washed down with glasses of ice cold Estrella was the perfect way to relax and recharge ourselves after the wonderful wedding frenzy. Although we speak exactly no Spanish beyond “Hola”, “Por Favor” and “Gracias”, as long as I could manage to ask for Boquerones, I was as happy as a clam (and I was often asking for those too of course–delicious!).
Heavenly spot for a picnic and some snorkeling at Cap de Creus.
Amazing local cuisine at Casa Anita in Cadaques: The kind of restaurant where there are no menus and they bring you whatever is the most fresh and tasty–my very favorite kind of place.
Quimet y Quimet: Most delicious tapas in Barcelona!
Parc Guell: Gaudi Mosaic
Paella aftermath at El Roure in Barcelona: the most fabulous paella made only on Thursdays at lunchtime.
We picked Spain as our honeymoon destination because it was a country that neither of us had ever visited but always wanted to–and now we’re chomping at the bit to go back! San Sebastien is definitely on our short travel list for sampling to-die-for tapas. Adios for now Spain!
